Thou, Secret Chiefs 3, Krallice Among First Bands Announced for for Subterranean Dissonance Fest
Two nights of avant-garde, experimental, and progressive metal will soon crawl under the streets of Philadelphia, as the Subterranean Dissonance Fest will once again take over the Underground Arts for the third year in a row.
Earlier today, organizers announced that the annual fest will take place on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. Not only that, but they’ve also unveiled this year’s lineup, which includes some heavy hitters like Thou and Pyrrhon, each performing special full album performances of Umbilical and Exhaust, respectively. Other bands slated for the event include Secret Chiefs 3, Krallice, Deadguy, Agriculture, and more.
According to organizers, this first batch of bands is just the beginning, as additional acts are expected to be unveiled as we get closer to the event. The full lineup as it stands today is as follows:
2025 Subterranean Dissonance Lineup:
- Thou- performing Umbilical
- Secret Chiefs 3
- Krallice
- Deadguy
- Young Widows
- Agriculture
- Pyrrhon- performing Exhaust
- Dysrhythmia
- The Silver
- Scarcity
- Idle Heirs
- Malevich
- Underer
- Zombieshark!
One of the key characteristics of the festival is the fact that the venue itself features a unique two-room setup where two bands can be performing at the same time, in the same venue. That means attendees can move freely from the main stage to the “black box” stage just a short stroll over to experience “zero dead air” between performances.
The festival’s so exciting and unique that organizers say they’ve managed to attract fans of the odd and extreme from all over the world, including New Zealand, Germany, Colombia, and Canada… though that last one’s not quite as exotic as the others, all things considered.
From black metal, to noise rock, to instrumental progressive and all other kinds of strange, psychedelic madness, it’s looking like Subterranean Dissonance Fest is going to be one hell of an experience. Tickets for single day and two-day passes will go on sale to the general public this Thursday, October 31 at 11 a.m. EST. For more information about how to get your hands on some passes, be sure to hit up the festival’s website.
