Full of Hell and Andrew Nolan Share “Sphere of Saturn” from Upcoming Collaboration

0

In the interest of collaboration, the previously announced album featuring grindy noise rock gremlins Full of Hell and Canadian industrial artist Andrew Nolan titled Scraping The Divine sounded like a natural combination of interests and talents. That fact is instantly confirmed the moment you hit play on their new single “Sphere of Saturn,” which you can check out down below.

Featuring an unsettling soundscape filled to the brim with droning sounds, buoyed by steady drums, and occasionally perforated by sharp, staccato screams, this track is exactly what came to mind when Scraping The Divine was announced. Recording sessions for this upcoming release spanned from 2019 to 2023, so there was tons of time for something like this new track to fester and ferment into what it is today.

Speaking of the work both sides of the album did together, Nolan said it all came from a shared interest in the music.

“The relationship with Full of Hell began in the very early days of the band when Dylan wrote me asking for feedback on a Full of Hell noise tape and a breakdown of The Endless Blockade’s live electronics. Over a decade later, several remixes, guest appearances, tours, session bass, and live electronics a full collaboration album is finally complete.”

In addition to Full of Hell and Andrew Nolan, this particular track features a guest appearance by Godflesh/Jesu/JK Flesh musician Justin K. Broadrick.

Nolan said this of the track itself:

“On ‘Sphere of Saturn’ voltage controlled motors on amplified springs and sheet metal beneath Dylan’s harsh vocals give way to classic Justin Broadrick discordant guitar and hazy vocals. Despite the melancholy of the song the underlying message is on the futility of pessimism.”

Scraping The Divine will be available on November 15 via Closed Casket Activities, but you can preorder your copy today.
