Deftones Release Yet Another Beer in Honor of Dia De Los Deftones
Every now and then a band gets a wild hair up their ass to put out an official beer or something. Deftones, however, have gotten that wild hair up their ass more than once. The alt-metal/shoegaze act has put out a number of collaborations with Belching Beaver Brewing company, a company name that sounds like a euphemism for queefing. There was the Phantom Bride IPA back in 2016, the White Pony double dry-hopped IPA in 2020, the Ohms pale ale in 2021, the Bored blueberry wheat this past August, and that doesn’t even cover all of them. They even put out a White Pony tequila in 2021.I have to admit, beer and liquor aren’t the substances I generally reach for when listening to a band like Deftones. Now, give me a White Pony sativa strain and I’m down.
Deftones’ latest collaboration with Queef Brewing is called Dia De Los Deftones, so named after their mini-festival that actually takes place this coming weekend. Deftones introduced the beef on their Instagram saying:
“As we gear up for Dia De Los Deftones, we’re excited to share our latest DDLD V lime-infused Mexican Lager. It will be available in select locations starting tomorrow, 10/29, and will be on-site this Saturday at Petco Park in San Diego. Online ordering for CA residents is available today at belchingbeaver.com. Distribution has begun rolling out to CA, AZ, and CO. Cheers.”
A lime-infused Mexican lager? Oh, okay, so it’s a Corona. Am I the only one getting that it’s a Corona?
The new beer is already sold out on the Queef Brewing website, so your best chance to find Dia De Los Deftones is to use the company’s Brew Finder tool if you’re in California, Arizona, or Colorado to find a business near you that carries it.
Or you could just drink a Corona while you listen to White Pony again. Seems like it’s about the same experience.
