Chat Pile’s “Frownland” Video is Dripping with Isolation and Loneliness

0

With their tour about to kick off, Chat Pile dropped a new music video for the track “Frownland” off their latest LP Cool World. And according to its director, it’s all about feelin’ lonely.

And while the music wades through its molasses-thick thump and rancid fury, the video’s equally unsettling at first, eventually building to the end of director Matthew Zagorski’s narrative treatment for the song.

“When I first heard this song, I heard despair, so I wanted the video to start off troubling. The main character laying there in the rubble of his old life, digging through the ruins of what used to be. I was dealing with extreme feelings of loneliness and not feeling worthy at the time of piecing together this video and it really bled into the narrative.”

In just a couple days, Chat Pile will kick off their North American tour with Nightosphere, Nerver, Agriculture, Porcelain, Traindodge, Mamaleek, and thirdface. Now, it’s not like all of those openers will be at every show, so if you want to see a certain band open for Chat Pile, you’re going to have to check the list of dates below to see who’s playing which date. The band also announced a couple of tour runs throughout 2025, which we’ve also included below.

Oh and don’t forget to pick up Cool World wherever you get your music.
