Everyone Except As I Lay Dying Claim Their European Tour is Done-ski
As we wait to find out exactly what the status is within the As I Lay Dying camp following the exits of bassist and clean vocalist Ryan Neff, tour manager Alex Kendrick, guitarist and former Unearth member Ken Susi, and drummer Nick Pierce, it seems their planned European tour has also gone up in smoke.
In separate announcements on their respective social media pages, the tour’s planned supporting acts Ov Sulfur, Caliban, and Decapitated all revealed that the expected run through Europe was indeed dead. All of this is just another facet to the ongoing shitshow that surrounds Tim Lambesis’ revitalized version of As I Lay Dying.
Citing “circumstances beyond our control,” Decapitated said they’re planning a new tour in the wake of what’s happened.
“We regret to inform you that, due to circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming tour has been cancelled.
“We are very sorry for all our fans who were planning to come to these shows and already bought tickets.
“Get ready for an amazing new tour that’s on the way—we can’t wait to make it up to you!
“Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for support!
“Tickets can be refunded at your point of purchase.”
Simiarly, Caliban sounded bummed out by the “tough news,” saying that it was “completely out of our hands” and that they were trying to “make things right.”
“It’s with a heavy heart that we have to share some tough news. As many of you have already heard, our upcoming tour with As I Lay Dying has been cancelled.
“Believe us when we say this was completely out of our hands.
“We know how much you were all looking forward to it, and we’re truly sorry to disappoint our amazing fans.
“Please know we’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to make things right.
“We are doing everything we can to organize a worthy replacement for this tour ASAP and will hopefully be able to make announcements soon.
“Thank you all for your patience and support.
“Stay tuned for more updates – we’ll be back soon!

As for Ov Sulfur, they got the most real about the situation, revealing that this cancellation is costing them in dollars and cents that they won’t be able to recoup, asking fans to buy their merch and shit to help them out.
“Unfortunately our European tour with @asilaydying, @decapitatedband and @calibanofficial has been canceled. We are disappointed to not play for our fans overseas for what would have been our first time, but this was out of our control. We look forward to making it to your side of the world as soon as we can.
“Sadly some costs incurred are not recoupable, so if you have the means it would mean the world if you check out any of our merch stores or stream our music. Thank you and see you soon.”
And despite all this, the dudes in As I Lay Dying remain silent. The band’s remaining guitarist Phil Sgrosso did release a statement letting fans know that he’d comment in due time, but that he was dealing with the “bureaucracy/business” side of things before he’d take that step.
This whole thing has been absolutely wild. We’ll have to wait and see what actually comes from all of this when it’s all said and done.
