Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach “Can’t Accept Any Donations,” Has GoFundMe Taken Down

0

Yesterday, we reported on a GoFundMe page that was started to help Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach deal with an infestation of black mold that forced him and his wife to evacuate their home. The page was started by one of Leach’s friends and at the time people had begun contributing to help the vocalist out.

Despite all the good will, Leach came out earlier today to thank fans for their concern before letting them know that the page was being shutdown. There was a GoFundMe that was started by a concerned friend and a good man for me. I have reached out to him to shut it down because he “simply can’t accept any donations.”

Here’s his entire statement in full:

“I indeed have been going through a real rough patch for those who have seen my Instagram stories. The outreach has been incredible and I am so grateful!

“While I so appreciate the thought behind raising funds and all the amazing people who donated I simply cant accept any donations. The fund has been shut down and between my good friend and I we will ensure everyone gets back any monies sent.

“Thank you all for your generosity and concern I am honored by you!”

Donations were collected from 50 people, resulting in a final tally of more than $1,600 by the time the page was canceled. To Leach’s credit, he said he and his friend were going to make sure everyone got their money back.

Naturally, we all should respect the man’s wishes. I’m sure it’s great for him to know that he has such a strong support system in place in case he needs to lean on it. Here’s hoping he and his wife can land on their feet and get the issue resolved soon.
