Exclusive Album Stream: Deivos Return with a Slab of Polish Death Metal with Apophenia
With their seventh full-length album Apophenia coming out tomorrow via Selfmadegod Records, Polish death metal outfit Deivos have teamed up with us to give you guys — the MetalSucks readers — a pre-release listen of the whole damn thing.
Featuring nine new, brutal tracks, Apophenia gives a modern definition to the concept of “all killer, no filler”, as each track is lean and visceral. There’s no bullshit to pull out of it. From start to finish, Deivos set out on a mission of brutality and they deliver.
Songs like “My Sacrifice” and “The Great Day of His Wrath” leave very little room to breathe. Honestly, that could be said about the whole damn record. Oh and I gotta say — the use of cowbell in “Maelstrom of Decay” really was an unexpected inclusion that adds a very brief moment of levity before shit ratchets back to full force.
Speaking of the new album, Hubert Banach said Apophenia manages to look back at the band’s predecessors while trying to forge their own path.
“Our new album delivers a piece of solid death metal with a modern yet gritty sound, reminiscent of the genre’s classics. If you’re looking for strong, technical metal with memorable tracks, grab this album!”
Apophenia will be available tomorrow via Selfmadegod records. You can preorder your copy today.
