Slipknot Gets Brat-ified by This Powder Keg of a 9-Year-Old Girl
It really is simple, man. I see a great video of kids kicking ass covering a metal song, I’m going to put it up on the ‘Sucks. Hence why I’ve got another video from the O’Keefe Music Foundation that has kids once again ripping through a Slipknot song — and not just any song, but their track “Heretic Anthem” from their sophomore album Iowa.
Eagle-eyed fans might remember that this song’s already been done by the school, but this time around, a nine-year-old future rockstar and short stack of highly volatile TNT named “K8” got behind the mic to show Corey Taylor what’s up.
As expected, the video’s got good production behind it, the song itself sounds clear, and this band full of teenagers and younger absolutely throw down.
I know I’ve said this before about the O’Keefe Music Foundation, but they do amazing work to get kids interested and interacting with the music they like while giving them an outlet to express themselves. By this point, you should know that this music school does some cool shit with the kids enrolled in it. I mean, if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t have gotten the ungodly amount of rock and metal covers they’ve released like Down’s “Ghosts Along the Mississippi” and Rammstein’s “Keine Lust”.
The O’Keefe Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Ohio that’s given kids a place to experience music creation in a professional-level environment. They offer music lessons, recording sessions, and film accompanying music videos for free, regardless of their family’s economic status.
If you think the foundation’s mission is worthwhile and have a few bucks to spare, why not help ’em out? You can make a donation to the O’Keefe Music Foundation online.
