Ice Nine Kills Drummer Patrick Galante Leaves Band
Have Ice Nine Kills given you ice nine chills? They might, if you’re a fan of their drummer Patrick Galante, who announced today he’s straight dippin’ from the metalcore band.
Galante joined the band back in 2018, making his debut on “Your Number’s Up” (feat. Sarah J. Bartholomew)” and their cover of Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller” on their album The Silver Scream, a record inspired by their favorite horror films. Galante was fully featured on the album’s sequel The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood.
Galante released this statement confirming his departure:
“Performing with Ice Nine Kills has been an incredible experience and I can’t thank my brothers in INK enough for their trust and faith in me throughout the past 6 years.
“That being said, I have made the difficult decision to part ways with Ice Nine Kills. I’m excited to watch INK continue their success as I pursue other creative and musical projects.
“I would like to thank you all for your continued support of my endeavors. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life and career, so keep your eyes and ears open for what’s to come.
“This is not my departure from music. This is not my retirement from the stage. This is just the ending of a chapter, and I’m ready to explore the rest of my story. I am happy, healthy and thankful for all your support.”
Ice Nine has not announced Galante’s replacement. Galante’s not the first drummer to bid the band adieu, but as a mainstay of Ice Nine Kills in recent years, I’m sure we’ll notice his absence and the change up to whoever comes after him.
