Helloween Announce New Album ‘Live at Budokan’
A band with a name like Helloween makes you expect to get some of that spooky spooky for both the season and the genre. Those fools were on and off the road a lot between 2022–2023, hitting over 30 countries in the process. They’ve managed to encapsulate all those performances in a cute lil present just in time for the holidays. It’s called Live at Budokan, and it’ll be out December 13 (which, I mean, such a missed Halloween opportunity).
Specifically, it focuses on their Tokyo set at the Nippon Budokan, memorializing what has been described as one of their more “iconic” and “surreal” performances. You’ll be able to take it in in basically every way since it’s going to be released in many formats: 2CD-digipak, 3LP vinyl in trifold, Blu-ray, DVD, and digital. Plus, from a visual perspective, it’s the shit. There were 29 cameras capturing them, so the angles will be top-tier.
If you can’t wait for Live at Budokan to come out, Helloween got you. They’ve released the first single “Best Time” to tide you over.
Of the new album, guitarist Sascha Gerstner says:
“”Best Time” captures the energy and the moment when everything fits together perfectly and you leave everything negative behind. For me, this track is an anthem for all those nights when you’re heading towards the future. That’s why it conveys exactly this mood in concert as if you were living in a single great moment that lasts forever.”
