Today marks a very special day for one of the more exciting supergroups out there, as Cemetery Skyline’s debut record Nordic Gothic hits the shelves and blasts through the interwebs. It’s an exciting time for any band putting out their first slate of new music, but this isn’t the band members’ first rodeo.

If you’re a fan of bands like Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Dimmu Borgir and the like, you’re going to want to check this band out, since some of the dudes in those bands are in this one. For those that don’t know, Cemetery Skyline is comprised of Dark Tranquility vocalist Mikael Stanne, Insomnium guitarist Markus Vanhala, Amorphis keyboardist Santeri Kallio, Dimmu Borgir bassist Victor Brandt, and Sentenced drummer Vesa Ranta.

Recently, we sat down with some of the guys to talk about how the band came together and what it’s like to play with such a star-studded lineup. The dudes obviously know each other well from touring with one another in their other bands, but it’s great to see a supergroup where egos are
