The Eyes Have It in Jerry Cantrell’s New Single “I Want Blood”

0

We’re just one week out from the release of Jerry Cantrell‘s fourth full-length solo album I Want Blood. With time running short before then, the Alice in Chains guitarist put out the final pre-release single and accompanying visualizer with the album’s title track, “I Want Blood.”

If you’ve ever heard any of Cantrell’s previous solo works, you know the singles presented from this album suggest it’s definitely different this time around. Armed with a much more driving rock sound than some of the more introspective tracks on albums like Boggy Depot or Degradation Trip, “I Want Blood” is bolstered by guest appearances by Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin.

Speaking of the album itself, Cantrell said this time he feels incredibly happy about the work he put in to this upcoming release.

“There’s a confidence to this album. I think it’s some of my best writing and playing and certainly some of my best singing. There are large chunks of this record where I felt like my face was pressed to the ceiling of my abilities, operating at the top of my capacity.”

Cantrell currently has some tour dates set up in South America, but a pending North American run will apparently be announced soon.

I Want Blood will be available on October 18 via Double J Music, but you can preorder your copy today.
