Electric Callboy Celebrate TEKKNO Anniversary and Success, Drop Babymetal Game Collab
Love ’em or hate ’em, German electronicore outfit Electric Callboy have had a hell of a time over the last couple years following the release of their album TEKKNO. They’ve played huge shows, garnered tons of attention, and earlier today, can announce that they’ve hit multiple milestones with the album.
While participating in a TV show in Cologne, Germany, the dudes in Electric Callboy were surprised by representatives from their label Century Media Records, their agency CONTRA Promotion, and their management Exact Management. All three entities were there to surprise them with some huge news and even huger awards.
According to the announcement, the band received awards for their singles “Hypa Hypa” and “We Got The Moves” in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. They also achieved gold status with TEKKNO in Finland. But perhaps the biggest announcement was the fact that the album reached more than 500,000,000 streams worldwide and the singles’ music videos have all gotten 250,000,000 views.
Couple all that with the insane ticket sales they’ve experienced at various festivals and huge shows along the way and you’ve got a recipe for success. To recap, they’ve sold more than 250,000 tickets for their world tour and they’ve played in front of huge crowds at various European Festivals.
All that aside, the band is getting ready to play a sold out festival in Japan this December, with the last performances of the month taking place at the Good Things Festival in Australia. Other than that, they have a run of European dates already book and scheduled. You can find the full dates below.
Additionally, the band announced that they sought to build upon the success of their song with Japanese kawaiimetal band Babymetal by releasing an online video game. In it, fans can “showcase their dance skills and compete for a spot on the global leaderboard.” You can try your hand at their game over right now, if you’d like.
