Diamante, Perturbator, Kittie, and More Featured in American Psycho Comic Soundtrack
Apparently comic book series can get their own licensed soundtrack, complete with some big names. At least, that’s what’s happening for Sumerian Records’ upcoming American Psycho comic book series. Announced earlier today, the American Psycho Comic Series Soundtrack was announced, showcasing songs by Ice Nine Kills, Kittie, Carpenter Brut, and a whole bunch more.
In the past, we highlighted one of the tracks featured on this upcoming release — Ice Nine Kill’s cover of “Walking On Sunshine,” featuring Reel Big Fish. This time around, the label dropped Diamante’s cover of Pat Benatar’s classic track “Love is a Battlefield,” which you can watch below.
Diamante said being able to contribute to something that’s so rooted in 80s culture was right up her alley.
“Since I can remember, I have always been a huge fan of songs from the 80s, especially of the female powerhouse vocalists of that time. In particular, Pat Benatar has always been a hero of mine, and I love nothing more than a good challenge. So for me, recording this version of “Love Is a Battlefield” was a lifelong dream come true.”
As for the need to even create a soundtrack for a comic book series, Sumerian Comics President Nathan Yocum said he’s excited for fans to experience both at once.
“We are beyond excited to present this soundtrack as a true celebration of music and storytelling, brought together by some of the most talented and dynamic artists in the industry today. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration, and we can’t wait for fans to experience how these songs complement the world of American Psycho in a bold and electrifying way. It’s more than just a soundtrack—it’s a journey into the dark and thrilling atmosphere that this series embodies.”
