It Turns Out the Answer to “What If Alien Ant Farm Wrote ‘Hot To Go'” is Incredibly Catchy

I am an absolute sucker for mashups. Taking two songs or styles that shouldn’t go well together and seeing what comes out the other end is almost always a fun experience for me, so when I saw that mac glocky once again performed some black magic and turned hit pop track of the summer “Hot To Go” by Chappell Roan and made it an alt metal track in the style of Alien Ant Farm, I just had to take notice and share it with you guys.

The end result is an incredibly faithful recreation of Alien Ant Farm’s sound, only they’re playing a super LGBT+-friendly tune that gets all the girlies, gays, and general pop fans dancing and singing along. Honestly, I can easily imagine this song being on the radio in the early 2000s. It’s wild how accurately mac models his own voice to sound like Dryden Vera Mitchell’s.

This isn’t the first time we’ve featured mac glocky. His Korn/Vanessa Carlton and his System of a Down/B-52s videos are fucking awesome and definitely worth a listen/view. He’s also done covers of Britney Spears’ “Oops!… I Did It Again,” Weezer’s “Say It Ain’t So,” and Blink 182’s “All The Small Things” as nu metal giants Korn wrote those songs. The dude’s crazy talented and again, I’m a sucker for this kind of shit — what more can I say?
