Incendiary Drops Off Furnace Fest, Replaced by No Cure

0

Furnace Fest is coming up this weekend and, unfortunately, one band had to make a last minute exit from the festival lineup. New York hardcore group Incendiary announced on Instagram this morning that they will need to pull out of the popular festival. Here’s what they posted on Instagram:

“Unfortunately, we will not be able to play Furnace Fest this weekend.

“Family will always come first and we need to be home.

“Thank you for understanding.”

Without knowing more about what’s going on, I have to agree that family must always come first. Unless your family is one of those families full of absolute monsters. The Duggar family, for example, doesn’t get to get out of things by saying “family will always come first.” But normal people do, and I can certainly respect Incendiary for putting their family ahead of the festival.

The festival already announced the replacement band, which is Birmingham-based straight edge crew No Cure. You might remember that No Cure have been in our headlines a bit lately as two of their members got stabbed at a show last week while trying to break up a fights. The fact that they were able to turn around and play Furnace Fest is pretty amazing. Here’s what the festival wrote on Instagram:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Incendiary regrettably must cancel this weekend’s Furnace Fest performance. We appreciate your understanding and support.

“Thank you to our good friends in No Cure for joining the lineup! You can catch them on HeartSupport main stage at 3:05 on Sunday. The Showdown will be in the Arsenal Strength shed at 2:55. Updated schedules will be posted soon!”

So, while it’s a big bummer that Incendiary had to drop out, you can go catch a band that turned around from a stabbing to play the festival less than a week later, and that’s pretty badass.
