Geoff Tate Announces Final Tour Performing Operation: Mindcrime

0

After being fired from Queensrÿche in 2012, long-time vocalist Geoff Tate got tangled up in a lawsuit with his former bandmates over the rights to the band name and music. The final settlement found Tate’s former bandmates retaining the rights to the Queensrÿche name, while Geoff Tate himself retained the rights to perform Queensrÿche’s landmark 1988 album Operation: Mindcrime and the 2006 follow-up Operation: Mindcrime II in their entirety under the band name Operation: Mindcrime. Well that era seems to be coming to an end, as Tate announced a final tour of him performing the 1988 album.

Being billed with the verbose tour name “Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime: The Final Chapter,” the tour was announced yesterday via Instagram. It starts out in March and April of 2025 before picking up again in September and October. While the extensive US tour hits up a lot of areas of the country, a few fans have noted a lack of West Coast dates, leading some to hope that there are more dates to be announced.
