Now You Too Can Pay $250 for a Special Edition of Tool’s Undertow

Are you a fan of Tool that has far too much money but doesn’t have their 1993 debut effort Undertow for some reason? If that’s the case, you might be interested in a copy of the album in an insanely pretty CD set commemorating its 30th anniversary that’s got a $250 price tag attached.

Being sold by the band online, the triple platinum album features special art and packaging curated by bassist Justin Chancellor who, as we all know, wasn’t in the band at the time of the album’s release. Still, he worked with Mackie Osbourne to put together not just the updated album art, but a full artbook with unreleased photos and interviews, a lenticular artwork card, a special 30th anniversary coin, and of course, the CD itself. The set was originally sold at Tool shows last year, since 2023 was the album’s actual 30th anniversary. Obviously they didn’t sell out of the set at these shows, since they’ve now got ’em on their official webstore. That being said, at least if you attended a show you had the chance of getting a signed copy of the set for a crisp $500. That’s 500 doll hairs. Five hundred smackers.

There’s no telling how long this set will be available, so if it’s something you want, you’re gonna have to make a decision sooner than later. Remember, this thing has no extra tracks, no B-sides, or anything like that. It’s just the CD you may or may not already have and a buncha extra packaging and tchotchkes.
