Maybe This New The Last Of Us Trailer Means the New Season Won’t Be a Total Bummer?

I haven’t watched the latest trailer for the next season of The Last Of Us, but judging by the picture above, it looks like Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) is havin’ fun just strumming on a guitar. She looks happy! After the events of the first season, you’d expect shit to be dark and dreary but how can you not feel hope with that screenshot?!

I mean, I’m sure nothing terrible will happen. Nor will there be any serious repercussions for Joel (Pedro Pascal) making that selfish choice at the end of the first season. And certainly this season won’t follow the events of the videogame The Last Of Us II, in which some real raw and fucked up shit happened to some beloved characters, setting off a firestorm of gamer rage the likes of which no one had ever seen before or since…

Nah, I bet it’s just one bit heartwarming show. Oh wait, here’s the logline:

“After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

Oh. Well, fuck.

I guess I should watch the full trailer, which I’ve posted down below. There’s no official release date other than “2025”, so here’s hoping we find out more soon. The first season was excellent and I can’t wait for the next one.
