Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters Pull Out of Southside Music Festival at the Last Minute
Within the last hour or so, insanely popular rock act Foo Fighters announced that they were no longer playing the Southside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut this Sunday. The message was admittedly pretty short and might have left some fans feeling largely unfulfilled in the end.
“FOO FIGHTERS will no longer be appearing at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival. Please check the festival website for more information.”
Usually a note of this importance would last a little longer. Maybe it would make you think about something else like getting a refund on your tickets or something. Distractions can help in a situation like this, but it honestly has to take a lot of willpower and focus for fans not to pop off about this sudden change.
In recent weeks, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl‘s reputation has been getting slapped around a bit after the 55-year-old rockstar admitted that he had been a bad boy and fathered a daughter out of wedlock. In a message posted to his Instagram on September 10, he said he was going to stick around for the baby’s sake but that he hoped he could mend things with the family he has with model and TV producer Jordyn Blum and his three daughters.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
While it’s not for certain that his affair had anything to do with this cancellation, it certainly feels like the two things are connected. We’ll just have to see if the real cause remains under wraps.
