Paula and Dave Lombardo’s Venamoris Signs with Ipecac Recordings, Release “In The Shadows”

Eyeing a 2025 release for their sophomore album, the duo of Paula and Dave Lombardo that makes up Venamoris announced today that they’ve joined Mike Patton’s record label Ipecac Recordings. It might be one of the more predictable announcements, as Dave Lombardo’s been a friend and collaborator with Patton for years now.

“Venamoris is such an intimate project for the two of us. To have our sophomore album in Ipecac’s exceptionally skilled hands is a dream realized. We are ecstatic to be a part of this audacious label.”

In addition to the announcement, the couple released a dark and brooding new track titled “In The Shadows”. Throughout its nearly four minute run time, the track’s got a pulse that flows through the thing, with Paula’s voice echoing throughout.

Speaking of the track, Paula explained where “In The Shadows” originated from.

“’In The Shadows’ is a song that arose from real-life feelings. The pulsating drum wholly evocative of marching forward even when internal unrest is still close-at-hand. It is a call for self-acceptance with the heaviness of a life well lived.”
