Uriah Heep Announces Their Farewell Tour

0

Making it to 55 years is a feat no matter how you look at it. It doesn’t seem like anything lasts that long nowadays, so we’d be damned not to celebrate everything that has made it this far. Like Uriah Heep, who somehow has managed to be around that for long. After years of being on and off the road, they’ve just announced they’ll be hitting it one last time for a farewell tour, set to start early next year.

The news came by way of a video posted on Uriah Heep’s YouTube page, where Mick Box, the band’s only original member left, shared the news. You can watch the video below.

“Who can believe next year is 55 years since the band started, and that’s just so amazing. I know many of you have been with us since the beginning, and we do thank you for that. It means the world to us,” the rocker said in part. “Unfortunately, we have made the decision to wind down touring the whole world next year under the title of ‘Magician’s Farewell’. In fact, ‘The Magician’s Farewell.’

“Over the next two to three years, we intend to play as many places as possible and see you all for the one last time. On behalf of the band and myself, I wanna thank you all for the continued support you have always given us. It means the world to us, and it means so much to us, and I just wanna thank you for that.”

Uriah Heep has done a lot with those 55 years, including releasing 25 studio albums across that long ass time. Their most recent effort, Chaos & Colour, came out last year.

Alongside Box, Uriah Heep’s current lineup includes Bernie Shaw on vocals, drummer Russell Gilbrook, bassist Dave Rimmer, and keyboardist Phil Lanzon.

Even though the actual tour dates have yet to be shared, they’re set to take place over the next few years.
