Bam Margera’s Back Behind Bars For Violating Probation

It really seemed like things were on the up for former Jackass star and MTV provocateur Bam Margera. Reports were that he was cleaning up his act and he was doing a relatively good job staying out of trouble, but all that seems to be in the past for now.

According to a report in the Main Line Times & Suburban, Margera was taken into custody by state police this past Wednesday and transported to Chester County Prison to wait for a hearing before Common Pleas Judge Patrick Carmody this coming Monday.

It all started when officers received a report at about 9 p.m. this past Monday of a white man sitting outside a family restaurant and ice cream shop in Needmore, Pennsylvania. By the time officers arrived at the establishment, Margera had already left the scene in a black sedan. He was eventually located by authorities and pulled over, which was when the responding trooper allegedly saw alcohol “on view” in the car.

Margera was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence and reckless driving. Since he’s currently serving out a six month probation sentence stemming from an altercation he had with his brother Jess Margera that sparked that infamous manhunt last year.

Despite this happening a couple days ago, Margera hasn’t been formally charged with anything. In a prepared statement, his attorneys Adam Leasure, Michael T. van der Veen, and William J. Brennan said they’re working to help their client deal with the situation.

“We are in the process of straightening this all out. Just like every citizen in this country, Mr. Margera is presumed innocent.”

It’s a bummer to see Margera continue to struggle with his demons and dealing with legal problems all the time. But if he was actually driving while drunk, that might be a bridge too far given the fact his close friend and fellow Jackass star Ryan Dunn was killed in a car crash when he was driving under the influence.
