Ice Nine Kills to Release Official Song for Slasher Film Terrifier 3
Cinematic horror metal band Ice Nine Kills are living up to the “cinematic” part of their genre description, as the band announced yesterday—at the band’s annual fan convention, Silver Scream Con, where they appeared beside Terrifier star David Howard Thornton—that they would be providing the official song, called “A Work of Art,” for the upcoming slasher film Terrifier 3. The film is the fourth in the Terrifier film series which revolves around the murderous Art the Clown, making the title “A Work of Art” is a non-so-subtle play off of the killer’s name.
In a statement reported on by Blabbermouth, Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas had this to say:
“The ‘Terrifier’ franchise gave us Art The Clown, the greatest new horror icon in decades. We are beyond honored by the invitation to play within the viciously delightful universe Damien Leone and his incredible team have created. The Art and INK fanbases are one and the same, and we heard the screams for this collaboration loud and clear.”
The world premiere of Terrifier 3 is set to be on this coming Thursday, October 19, and right after the videos for “A Work of Art” will premiere. The video, directed by Jensen Noen who has collaborated with Ice Nine Kills a few times, will star some of the franchise’s biggest starts including David Howard Thornton, who plays Art, Catherine Cococoran who played Dawn in Terrifier, and Leah Voysey who plays the Clown Café Host in Terrifier 2.
Terrifier 3 is set to be a Christmas slasher film, so no word yet on in the song or video are going to be festive for Christmas, but I’m pretty sure that, no matter what, the new track counts as a Christmas song if you have a dark enough sense of humor.
