Korn Broke Out Some Deep Cuts to Kick Off Their North American Tour

0

Last night was the first stop on the Korn/Gojira/Spiritbox North American tour and with so many bands currently on the road enjoying the nostalgia trip of various anniversaries and whatnot, the boys from Bakersfield decided to get in on that action.

Fans in attendance at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida were the first ones since 1999 to hear them play “Hey Daddy” from the 1999 album Issues. Other special inclusions were “Dead Bodies Everywhere” from Follow The Leader, which hadn’t been played in public since 2019, and “Oildale (Leave Me Alone)” from 2010’s Korn III: Remember Who You Are. That last one was particularly special because the band hadn’t played it since 2012 and it was the first time Brian “Head” Welch has ever played guitars on it live, since he didn’t rejoin the band until 2013.

According to Setlist.fm, the full list of songs from last night’s show was as follows:

  1. Here to Stay
  2. Dead Bodies Everywhere (First time in public since 2019)
  3. Got the Life
  4. Hey Daddy (First time since 1999)
  5. A.D.I.D.A.S.
  6. Start the Healing
  7. Blind
  8. Ball Tongue
  9. Clown
  10. Shoots and Ladders (w/ snippet of Metallica’s “One”)
  11. Twist
  12. Make Me Bad
  13. Insane
  14. Oildale (Leave Me Alone) (First time since 2012, first time with Head on guitars)
  15. Y’All Want a Single
  16. Falling Away From Me
  17. Good God
  18. Freak on a Leash

As an oldhead that remembers when a lot of those old songs came out, it’s great to see Korn break them out. Sure, they may not have the same edge they did when they wrote those tracks, but it’s awesome that a younger generation can get exposed to songs from earlier on in the band’s discography.

If you want to catch the show for yourself, along with sets from Spiritbox and Gojira, be sure to check out the full list of remaining dates below and get your tickets today.
