Spiritbox Return With New Single “Soft Spine”

0

Some surprises fucking suck. Like really, who needs to jump out of their skin for no reason? At least Spiritbox knows what a good surprise is. We haven’t heard anything new from them since the 2023 follow-up to their debut The Fear of Fear but they gifted us by dropping a new track “Soft Spine.” Give it a listen below.

Whenever Spiritbox leans into their heavier side it’s a goddamn delight, and that’s how they started this single. Of course, you’ve got your synths, forceful basslines, and blasting drumming in all of their proggy, djent awesomeness, but the track will really get you going when vocalist Courtney LaPlante shouts “Your God will see you when you die!” I don’t know why I get such a kick out of that lyric but it makes that breakdown it’s in go even harder.

Spiritbox teased the new single by posting a mysterious puzzle at app.spiritbox.com. If you were able to figure it out then great for you! Recorded at Hallway Studios in California, “Soft Spine” was produced by the band’s guitarist Mike Stringer and Dan Braunstein, who’s worked with Dayseeker, The Ghost Inside and more. It comes just a few days before the band is set to hit the road for a massive ass tour with Korn and Gojira.
