The Mars Volta’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala Calls Out Emily Armstrong Over Scientology Ties

0

Yesterday was a banner day for Linkin Park fans. Not only was the question of who would take over for the late Chester Bennington in the event of a reunion finally answered, but the unveiling went about as well as anyone could have hoped, as Dead Sara’s Emily Armstrong fucking nailed it. Oh and they have a new album and world tour lined up for the very near future.

But not everyone was thrilled about the reveal, as The Mars Volta‘s Cedric Bixler-Zavala and his wife Chrissie Carnell-Bixler have taken to social media to raise the alarm on Armstrong’s connection to the Church of Scientology and her support of That 70s Show actor, Scientologist, and convicted rapist Danny Masterson.

The issue is particularly personal for Carnell-Bixler, who was one of the women that accused Masterson of rape. She and Bixler-Zavala have both noted in the past the alleged stalking, harassment, and intimidation tactics they suffered at the hands of the Church of Scientology after they joined the chorus of women accusing the actor of his abuse.

In a series of posts on social media, Carnell-Bixler outlined Armstrong’s connection to the Church and Masterson, stating that the singer was present during Armstrong’s arraignment in support of the actor.

“[Linkin Park’s] new lead singer is a hardcore Scientologist who supporting convicted serial rapist both in and out of court. Emily Armstrong is a true believer of the Scientology cult/criminal organization that engages in human and child trafficking, child and elder abuse, the coverups of countless SAs on children and adults. Also is a true believer of LRH who said Homosexuals are sexual deviants on the same level as pedophiles and all homosexuals should be sent off to a leper colony. You can read all about Scientologists’ views on LGBT community in Science of Survival or Dianetics.”

Other posts showcased her husband’s comments that he left on Dead Sara’s pages, stating that he was surprised the rest of the band didn’t write a letter in support of Masterson “since your corny ass singer showed up to support him in the prelims.” He also described a scenario where one of the accusers had to be protected from a group of Scientologists at the courthouse who were harassing her, among other shitty scenarios.

The pair have really gone on the attack, with Carnell-Bixler also invoking the late Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who was famously a very close friend of Bennington’s.

“My husband toured with Soundgarden many times. I’ll never forget Chris Cornell telling a packed stadium that The Mars Volta was his favorite band. Chester Bennington and Linkin Park would always play At The Drive-In songs before going out on stage. Chester was a child SA survivor. Chester and Chris ha da beautiful bond and I’m told shared a common goal to fight human and child trafficking. Scientology is a human and child trafficking organization protected by a 501(c)3 granted under the Clinton Administration. Linkin Park just replaced Chester with a hardcore 2nd generation Scientologist. REST IN PEACE.”

Neither Armstrong nor Linkin Park have responded to the allegations. Whether or not they will remains to be seen.
