Mastodon and Lamb of God Are Teasing Something for Next Week

0

Lamb of God and Mastodon wrapped up their massive co-headlining tour, known as the “Ashes of Leviathan” tour, last week after being a huge success. But apparently that’s not the end of the collaboration with these two metal giants, as the two bands are teasing another collaboration for September 12. But what could it be?

Yesterday, Mastodon posted a GIF of rushing waves in a thunderstorm on Instagram with the caption on the screen reading:

“A flood is coming…and most of you will die.”

Wow, guys, that’s not overly dramatic at all. The post tagged Lamb of God as well, leading to a lot of speculation over what could be coming next from these two bands.

Our friends over at Metal Injection think it might be a split release, which would be cool. Some of the people in the comments suggested it might be a European edition of the “Ashes of Leviathan” tour.

This is a little bit of a less likely prediction, but what if the post is literal and the two bands are teaming up to create an unprecedented catastrophic disaster in an attempt to achieve the shared goal of world domination. I’m imagining something like Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers movies pointing a laser beam at the Earth and demanding $100 billion in ransom. Okay, that’s probably not what’s happening, but if it is, I, for one, welcome our new heavy metal overlords.

Meanwhile, you can catch Lamb of God and Mastodon at Riot Fest in Chicago, and you can catch Lamb of God Oct 28-Nov 1 on the Headbanger’s Boat leaving from Miami.
