Melodies Of Atonement (InsideOutMusic)
Eight records in and Norwegian prog rock/metal outfit Leprous are still out there releasing super engaging tunes. It’s at times catchy and anthemic, with what frontman Einar Solberg said is a “more straight-to-the-point and more pure” sound.

Every Bridge Burning (Nuclear Blast)
Here’s your must-listen-to grindcore for the weekend. Nails return with a ridiculously pissed off and dangerous sounding new record. The damn thing goes hard, so if you want to feel like you could punch God in the solar plexus, put Every Bridge Burning on.
Oceano
Living Chaos (Sumerian Records)
Ultra aggressive, beat down deathcore is on the menu when you’re about to hit play on this latest LP from Oceano. After listening to this one, I can only imagine how fucking crazy the pits are going to be during their headlining North American tour. Fuckin’ pandemonium.
Wintersun
Time II (Label)
Yes, this is actually happening. Stuck in limbo for what feels like an eternity, Wintersun is finally releasing the long-awaited, often promised Time II. There’s too much to say about this release in a simple blurb, but we’ll say this — whether the wait was worth it or not will vary.
At the time of writing this post, there wasn’t anything related to the actual music of Time II on YouTube, so enjoy this rehearsal of “Sons of Winter and Stars.”
