Linkin Park Has Something Planned for Next Thursday
Remember that random 100-hour countdown Linkin Park posted on their socials last week? You know, the one that took over their whole website for what seemed like no reason at all? Well, that 100-hour countdown just ended a day ago, and even though it’s all still mildly cryptic, we did kind of get some info out of it. In its roundabout way, it teased at some special occasion that is supposed to happen next Thursday.
Once the countdown ended, the clock allegedly “glitched” and reset itself, to only start counting again from zero up. In an ominous fashion, the band posted on their socials “It’s only a matter of time…” which apparently actually had meaning because a message on the band’s official website that came shortly after said “Be part of something. September 5.”
If you’re really in the know, you’re a member of Linkin Park’s official fan club Linkin Park Underground. Alleged members of the fan club were supposedly emailed about a shindig in Los Angeles that’s also happening on September 5. That one is just for LPU members, but not for all of them, because unfortunately tickets will be sent out at random to members.
The band’s original countdown launched on their site and social media pages last Saturday, August 24. It was also posted on the Instagram account of the Florida-based music festival Welcome to Rockville. Does this mean the band will reunite (possibly with a new female lead, as the rumors have been buzzing) and take to the festival’s massive stage next year? Maybe. It’d be cool if they kept this guessing game going with us, leaving us waiting for the next clue. I wonder what it’ll be…(probably another countdown to something, let’s be honest).
