Fan Footage Shows The Dillinger Escape Plan Killing ‘Calculating Infinity’ All These Years Later
Let it never be said that old dogs don’t have fight in them. Especially if those dogs are actually five dudes in a band called The Dillinger Escape Plan — because that would be fucking stupid. And if you need evidence of that truism, then look no further than the fan footage featured below.
Shot three nights ago in Chicago by YouTube channel 3XIL3D LIVE, the legendary New Jersey mathcore band took to The Salt Shed to run down their Calculating Infinity set. The show was billed as part of the band’s effort to commemorate that particular album’s 25th anniversary, so naturally the setlist was full of songs from that album and other pre-Greg Puciato-era tunes.
According to Setlist.fm, the entire setlist from that evening’s gig went as follows:
- Destro’s Secret
- Sandbox Magician
- The Running Board
- The Mullet Burden
- Calculating Infinity
- Jim Fear (Dimitri at front of house)
- Sugar Coated Sour
- 4th Grade Dropou
- Proceed With Caution
- I Love Secret Agents
- Abe the Cop
- Weekend Sex Change
- Variations on a Cocktail Dress
- Monticello (with “Just One Fix” by Ministry outro)
- Come to Daddy (Aphex Twin cover)
- Clip the Apex… Accept Instruction
- 43% Burnt
As it stands, The Dillinger Escape Plan don’t have any more shows lined up. So if you missed this latest run, you might be shit outta luck for the time being. At least there’s some great footage available online, which might be just as good as actually being there… (It’s not.)
