Queens of the Stone Age Cancel the Rest of Their Tour

Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age has had to deal with a lot of bullshit over the last few years. After cancelling several shows over the summer so Homme could focus on his health, the band has been forced to cancel the remainder of their tour for the same reason.

The band took to their Facebook page to announce the news Friday, August 23. Following the statement, they listed which of the remaining dates were postponed until next year and which ones were cancelled entirely.

“QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year.

“Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.

As for festival ticket holders, fans are advised to “visit specific event sites for updated information. Ticket holders for QOTSA shows will be contacted by point of purchase with further information about the new dates.”

Last year, Homme revealed that he was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer back in 2022. He had shared how he had a successful treatment that had put him in the “all clear” category and that he was feeling “the best I’ve felt all year.”

The last time Queens of the Stone Age was able to perform was back in early July in Milan, Italy. They cancelled their AMA Music Festival slot the night before due to illness, though they didn’t disclose exactly what that meant, or exactly who was ill.

It is not yet known if the small number of postponed shows will stay on the docket but either way, we just hope Homme is able to make a full recovery.
