Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Hospitalized But Okay After Sustaining Burns in Apparent “Explosion”

0

Slipknot turntablist/keyboardist Sid Wilson is injured but in good spirits after being rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for multiple burns following an accidental “explosion.”

According to a video he shot and posted himself on his Instagram account, Wilson gave fans a general idea of what happened, stating that he’d sustained burns on his face and arm. Despite the damage — and his singed eyebrows — he assured fans that he was ultimately going to be alright. He later posted again on Instagram as he was being transported to another facility that could better treat his injuries.

Throughout his posts, Wilson is seen cracking jokes and telling the nurses tending to him that he might be “allergic to fire,” which I’m sure killed in the emergency room.

Over on the official Slipknot Instagram page, the band announced that despite Wilson’s injuries, he’d still be able to perform next Sunday when they’re supposed to continue their “Here Comes The Pain” tour at Rocklahoma:

“Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes, and will see you all soon.”

Though details are scant about what actually caused the explosion, Wilson’s partner and mother of his child Kelly Osbourne posted some clips to her Instagram story that showed the musician wielding a chainsaw to clear a debris pile, followed by that same pile on fire.

Later on, she posted another clip where she can be seen in the hospital with Wilson in the background and holding their son Sidney. In that clip, she looks a bit weary over the whole situation.

“This is why you don’t fuck with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire and exploded everything. Ugh.”

Though this was a scary situation, it’s great that everyone can have a little laugh about it now. Fire’s no joke and it could have gone so much worse for Wilson.

We at MetalSucks wish Wilson a speedy recovery.
