Maryland Deathfest Adds Second Wave of Bands Including Black Curse, Tankard, and More

We’re roughly nine months out from next year’s edition of Maryland Deathfest, but that doesn’t mean the hype can’t keep building for what’s likely to be a killer 20th anniversary celebration. Earlier today, organizers reminded people just how wild the 2025 edition of the festival will be with the addition of more than two dozen more bands for its second wave.

With the original list of bands featuring the likes of Obituary, Paradise Lost, and Nile, this new list of additions to the lineup may be less iconic, but should excite even the crustiest death metal adherent. Added bands include Devourment, Flesh Grinder, Gates of Ishtar, Hulder, Martyrdöd, Tankard and more. Seriously, it’s a pretty stacked list as as follows:

Remember, this is all on top of things like Obituary playing a 35th anniversary set for Cause of Death and Paradise Lost committing to a 30th anniversary Draconian Times set. Hell, even one of today’s newly announced bands, Devourment, will be playin Molesting The Decapitated in full. Organizers revealed that a third wave of bands is still planned, as they still need more than a dozen acts to fill out Angels Rock Bar.
