HORSE the Band is Teasing Something for the 20th Anniversary of The Mechanical Hand
I think Horse the Band might be one of my favorite band names ever conceived. There’s not nearly enough bands with “the Band” at the end of their name. What makes it even better is that they sometimes stylize it as HORSE the band, which is just perfectly ridiculous. In honor of HORSE the band, I’m going to speak to the MetalSucks management and see if I can change my pen name here to HAELA the person.
So anyway, California Nintendocore/metalcore act HORSE the band is coming up on the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album The Mechanical Hand next year and it seems like they’re planning something to celebrate. Or they’re trolling.
On Friday, HORSE the band posted an image on their Instagram that was zoomed in and blurry and marked it with the location “2025.” It wasn’t a very difficult guessing game; the image was very clearly a segment of the cover of The Mechanical Hand.
But while it was an easy thing to guess, that’s as much information as they’ve given for the past four days. So we basically get the idea that something is going to happen regarding that album in 2025. That could mean a lot of things. Will there be an anniversary tour with full album plays? Will there be an anniversary reissue of the record? Will every copy of the album purchased since 2005 self-destruct at the stroke of midnight on the exact 20th anniversary of the album? All of these are technically possibilities. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before HORSE!!! the band starts coming forward with some explanations about what they’re teasing.
