Code Orange’s Reba Meyers on Playing with Marilyn Manson: “Everyone is Aiming for Growth”

0

We’ve all been talking about Marilyn Manson‘s comeback effort, but mostly in the context of the man behind the music and the allegations that had been leveled against him by multiple women. But one area we didn’t really outline is the band playing for Manson — who they are and why they’re there.

Well, it turns out one of the members is already pretty well known and felt the need to share her stance on the whole thing. Of course, we’re talking about Code Orange‘s Reba Meyers. Having already played nearly a dozen shows for the shock rocker, she took to Instagram to post her thoughts on the matter.

“See me performing with @marilynmanson now as he returns in awesome renewed form on tour this month and next, and in his new video for “Raise the Red Flag.’

“I’m proud to represent the growth, confidence, forgiveness, humanity, and change that comes with this, and to be up there with such talented motherfuckers. Everyone is aiming for growth and not stagnation. World needs that attitude right now. Thanks to all the new peeps that have been showing love and support my way.”

It’s interesting to see Meyers come out to hard for team Manson. I mean, on one hand it makes sense since she’s getting a paycheck for her time with the band, but the other side of the coin is that she’s a woman saying she’s willing to move on past the allegations that have marred Manson’s reputation as of late.

Despite those issues, Manson’s been playing shows and getting pretty solid reactions from fans. In response to Meyers’ post, Manson bandmate Piggy D. praised Meyers, saying how happy he was to have her as a bandmate.

“I’m so glad you’re here, so much fun! STAGE RIGHT TIGHT AF!”

You can check out Meyers as a guitartist for Manson at any of the live shows listed below.
