Vended Share New Video for Single “Serenity”

0

We all know who Vended is by now. Led by Corey Taylor’s son Griffin, the band, which also has other Slipknot spawn Simon Crahan (Clown’s kid) teeters on a similar balance of heavy hits and melodic notes, and you can certainly hear it (and see it) in the band’s video for their new song “Serenity,” coming off their upcoming debut album. You can watch it below.

As you guessed it, serenity defined isn’t something that you’d use to describe the band, but there is something soothing about the way Taylor switches between all-out shouting and crooning. In the video, the band moodily plays in the dead of night in a thunderstorm while something sinister lurks. And that sinister thing? Well, it’s some old white dude with a menacing stare and a creepy barn. And what does that old white dude do? A lot of it is left up for interpretation, but it’s obvious he fucking murdered some guy.

I probably just gave it all away, but the video for “Serenity” definitely screams Vended (and a little bit of Slipknot) in its energy.

The track is the fourth to come off their debut, due out next month. Taylor has commented before on how Vended is bringing back “aggression” and “emotion” to the metal scene. “Vended is a unit aimed at world domination, and this album is the first step. Welcome to Vended.” Damn right, boss.

Vended is heading out on tour next month with a few headlining dates, as well as a string of bills shared with Slipknot and Knocked Loose. They’re even playing Korn’s 30th-anniversary show in October along with Evanescence, Gojira, and Spiritbox.
