Decibel Books to Release Official History of Immolation

There are some bands that seem like they’ve been around basically since the beginning of time. Or at least it feels that way, since time has been dragging on at the most agonizing rate. Either way, Immolation happens to be one of those bands who have a history extensive as fuck, and Decibel Books has managed to capture it in all its beauty in their upcoming chronicle Into Everlasting Fire: The Official History of Immolation.

Sitting nicely at 400 pages, the book takes readers and fans through the wild as hell ride it was to be in the band throughout their career, dating all the way back to their debut days playing as Rigor Mortis in 1986. With interviews from band members current and former, label execs, journalists and other bands, the book really DOES provide a detailed history of them and how they contributed to the death metal scene. There’s even photos to show some of the antics and hilarity, some of which are actually in color for that extra effect.

The band, of course, is more than thrilled to be able to share the ups and downs of their saga:

“We are very excited and extremely proud to announce Into Everlasting Fire. It provides a unique glimpse into our world throughout the years as well as a glimpse into our scene from its earlier beginnings right up until the present. Kevin Stewart-Panko did an amazing job in assimilating almost 40 years of stories and memories into a book that will finally give our fans a unique look into Immolation’s long and rich history rooted in the beginnings of the death metal scene.”

Into Everlasting Fire: The Official History of Immolation is available for pre-order now via Decibel, with the release date slated for November this year. You can also preview an excerpt from the book here.
