Marilyn Manson Continues His Comeback with “Raise The Red Flag”

0

It’s only been two weeks since his comeback officially kicked off with the release of his first single in four years “As Sick As The Secrets Within,” but embattled shock rocker Marilyn Manson isn’t wasting any time in getting more new (and honestly pretty forgettable) music out there. Earlier today, his second single “Raise The Red Flag” popped up online and it’s yet another stark reminder that despite the legal issues, the dude’s not going away any time soon.

I mean, we already knew that due to the extensive touring schedule and his pretty recent signing to Nuclear Blast, but still. The dude’s spent a long time battling allegations of abuse, grooming, and sexual assault in a court of law from multiple accusers. While many of those lawsuits have been dismissed or settled out of court, he’s still got some legal problems hovering over him, including a lawsuit filed by Bianca Allaine Kyne that alleges that Manson coerced her into inappropriate situations when she was underage and coerced her into sex multiple times when she was older.

Despite all the turmoil, it seems like his fans are coming back in droves, as the video for his previous single reached more than a million views in its first weekend and was streamed more than 2.6 million times globally on all digital service platforms. He’s also been playing to some pretty packed crowds as he tours North America with Five Finger Death Punch with some headlining shows sprinkled throughout the run of dates.

As you can hear in the new single below, Manson is seemingly continuing with his poppy, synthy sound. Again, as someone that remembers his Portrait of an American Family and Antichrist Superstar days, this new stuff just sounds toothless. There’s no fire and fury here, so it’s just kinda boring. Fans have been eating it up though, so fuck me, I guess.

If you want to catch Manson at a show and probably hear this song live, you can find him at one of the many dates below.
