High Parasite “is Not a Side Project” for My Dying Bride’s Aaron Stainthrope, Single “Wasn’t Human” Streaming Now

There’s only so much time in the day, man. So I just don’t get how some dudes in metal find the time to be in two, three, four different bands, let alone just the one. There’s so much that needs to be done to get a project off the ground, but My Dying Bride frontman Aaron Stainthrope isn’t letting something as trivial as time get in the way of the music. Hence why he’s also leading High Parasite, a doomy five-piece that just released a new single titled “Wasn’t Human” off their forthcoming album Forever We Burn.

Set to release on September 27 via Candlelight/Spinefarm, Forever We Burn is a 10-track debut that’s a collaborative effort between Stainthrope and bassist/vocalist/songwriter Tombs. The rest of the band is comprised of guitarists Sam Hill and Jonny Hunter, along with drummer Dan Brown.

Though Stainthrope’s already made a name for himself through My Dying Bride, he admits that High Parasite is more than just a dalliance away from his main focus.

“This is not a side project. It’s a new touring and recording band, and with ‘Forever We Burn,’ our debut studio album, we’re showing our love for all things gothic and grand, along with a collective belief that dark music doesn’t have to be confined to the shadows. It’s a big part of global consciousness and culture, and our plans for the future are as broad as possible”

As for the track itself, “Wasn’t Human” is heavy, yet suitably catchy. If the rest of the record is as good as this, it could be a surprise for many.

Forever We Burn will be released on September 27 via Candlelight/Spinefarm, but you can preorder your copy today.

You can also catch High Parasite with Cradle Of Filth and Butcher Babies at one of the dates below.
