Megadeth’s Been Playing a Deep Cut off So Far, So Good… So What for the First Time in Decades

0

There was a time in metal history where if you didn’t want your dirty laundry aired out in public, you didn’t piss off Megadeth frontman and founder Dave Mustaine. There are multiple accounts of the dude writing what effectively boils down to a diss track about the people that have wronged him like a redheaded, angry Taylor Swift.

Now, apparently ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland really fucked up, because he ended up being immortalized in the track “Liar” off the woefully underrated So Far, So Good… So What. I mean, read the lyrics and it’s obvious he must have done some heinous shit. It’s honestly one of the more pissed off tunes in Megadeth’s repertoire and over the weekend at their show in Inglewood, California on August 9, they dusted it off to play for the first time in nearly two decades.

According to Setlist.fm, the inclusion of “Liar” in Megadeth’s setlist at the YouTube Theater was the band’s first time playing the song since 2006. Prior to that, it had only been played five times in 1998, one time in 1995, and three times in 1993, with only 1988 having more than 10 plays with a total of 35.

You can check out the clip of them playing the song below. Just note that they tuned everything down so Dave can sing it. If you want to experience the song live, you can check Megadeth out at any of the dates below.
