Fans of southern groove metal are going to want to check this one out. The video may rely a bit on stock footage, but there’s nothing stock about this band. If you’re a fan of thick riffs and punchy bass, you should give this one a try.

Duck Face Killings (20 Buck Spin)
Brutal death metal is always best when it’s at its goriest. We’ve got a review coming up later today, but needless to say, our guy enjoyed the hell out of this release.

Lifa Iotungard (Season of Mist)
The visual and sonic treat that is Heilung got to play the iconic Red Rock Amphitheater. It was apparently a magical night that’s now available to experience or relive for as long as copies of Lifa Iotungard exist.
In Aphelion
Reaperdawn (Century Media Records)
Featuring members of Necrophobic, Cryptosis, and ex-Grave, this band’s a black metal supergroup. Reaperdawn. It’s brutal, epic black metal that’s got a tinge of misanthropy mixed in for good measure.
Monument Of Misanthropy
Vile Postmortem Irrumatio (Transcending Obscurity Records)
Speaking of misanthropy, this Austrian brutal death metal act is back for another round of gore-drenched fury. This time, the album’s all about Ed Kemper, a serial killer known for murdering seven women and one girl aptly named the Co-ed Killer. The album cover says it all.
