Burton C. Bell Releases Second Solo Single “Technical Exorcism”
Burton C. Bell, also known to us sarcastic jackasses as “Burton Seabell,” the long-time frontman of Fear Factory, released his second solo single since his departure from his old group. The song is called “Technical Exorcism,” which I think is supposed to bring to mind an image of a demon being exorcised from a robot. The single comes with a glitched-out video of Bell and his new band performing,
Bell had talked about his upcoming single a few months back during an appearance on Knotfest’s Nu Pod podcast, saying:
“It’s more uptempo. It’s got more guitar in it. And it’s gonna be awesome. I’ve got a couple of guest artists on this next track that it’s gonna be sick. I recruited Paul Ferguson again, and I’ve also recruited Norman Westberg, guitar player from Swans. Swans is one of my favorite bands of all time and it’s a band that influenced not just me but Neurosis — a lot of bands — Godflesh.”
It’s been a while now since Bell departed Fear Factory, as he first made the announcement back in 2020. This year marked his return to music with the release of his debut solo single “Anti-Droid” back in March, a dark sci-fi-themed track that apparently is not about iPhones.
We’re still waiting on a Burton C. Bell solo tour, too, despite him continually threatening to go out on the road, mostly with Fear Factory songs.
Meanwhile, we’re also waiting for Fear Factory to release their first new music with new vocalist Milo Silvestro. I thought, in divorces, we were supposed to get an equal number of presents from both parents. What a rip-off!
