Video: Clown Sings Soulful Rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes”

If you’ve been as terminally online as I have over the last few years, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve stumbled across “The Sad Clown with the Golden Voice” known as Puddles, of the YouTube channel Puddles Pity Party. If you’ve found him before, you know this frowny jester has a phenomenal voice.

Having found popularity both as a contestant on America’s Got Talent back in 2016 and with numerous covers blowing up on the internet over the years, he’s become a pretty solid staple among cover performers on the ‘Tube. And while many of his covers fall in the pop range, he sometimes dips his toes into hard rock and metal, having belted out Dio’s “Rainbow In The Dark” and “Holy Diver”, as well as Linkin Park’s “One More Light”.

Well earlier today, the dulcet toned Emmett Kelly dropped what might be one of the most soulful versions of Black Sabbath‘s classic tune “Changes.” It was already an emotional piece before the painted Pagliacci got his gloved hands on it, but man — this is really a great take on the song.

While sad clowns used to freak the fuck out of my predecessor, I’m personally all for Puddles and everything he does. The Puddles Pity Party is currently on the road, so if you’re so inclined, you can check him and his sweet vocal tones at a city near you.
