Weekend Nachos Add Even More Tour Dates

0

Chicago Powerviolence for the fucking win. As if embarking on their “hello we still exist even though we tried not to” tour (not its actual name, because the real one is even better: “We Felt Like Playing Shows Again”), Weekend Nachos are pouring more of that sticky icky cheese on us with some additional shows for us to gobble the hell up.

The band broke up in 2017 shortly following the release of their album Apology, to much disappointment that they certainly did not apologize for. Vocalist John Hoffman kept busy with his other projects Ledge and Spine, but he simply could not resist the call of the nacho. Their reunion started last year with some festival slots at Northwest Terror Fest and Maryland Death Fest, as well as supporting Harms Way at their album release show for 2023’s Common Suffering.

So far, Weekend Nachos have added three more dates to their tour, including an appearance later this year at Flyover Fest in Tulsa, OK. They’ll also hit Denver at the end of August with Primitive Man, as well as a hefty slot at Full Terror Assault Open Air IX with Goatwhore, Deicide, Gatecreeper, and more.

The band announced their breakup in a Facebook post back in 2016. Thank goodness so much of that didn’t end up to be true, considering how 2024 is definitely not 2016.

We would like to announce with both sadness and excitement that 2016 will be the final year as a band for Weekend Nachos. It’s been almost 12 years and we have decided to hang it up. This is not for any reason other than the fact that all good things must eventually come to an end, and we are rapidly approaching the end of our time. It’s been an insane and crazy ride for us to see where we were able to take this band. Everything was done completely on our terms and with the same DIY spirit that we had when Andy and I first jerked each other off in our Dekalb apartment in 2004. We will continue to apply that sacred mindset towards our future projects and endeavors…I hope all of you will do the same.

We would like to thank anybody and everybody who ever shared this experience with us. Your support will never be matched and it has been a lot of fun. We will be playing a series of shows over the course of 2016 and as always, if you have a chance to see us, don’t sleep! We never know when we’ll be back. If it ever makes sense to play another show after our demise in the years to come, maybe we will, but don’t count on it.
