Wolf Hoffmann Says Udo Dirkschneider and Peter Baltes are Welcome to Join Accept for 50th Anniversary Tour

0

Legendary German heavy metallers Accept are still working on touring for their whopping 17th studio album, Humanoid, that was released earlier this year. But even still, they’ve already made the announcement that they intend to embark on a 50th anniversary tour starting in late 2025 and going into 2026, with a career retrospective album slated for release in Spring of 2026.

Of course, over the course of 50 years, a lot of members have come in and out of the band, and many feel like it just wouldn’t feel right to have a 50th anniversary tour without founding members Udo Dirkschneider (vocals) and Peter Baltes (bass). In a recent interview with Spanish outlet Metal Journal (as translated by Google Translate), founding guitarist and sole remaining original member of the band, Wolf Hoffmann, was asked if Dirkschneider and Baltes would be invited to join the band on their big anniversary tour, and Hoffmann was all for it:

“Of course, of course. This means we have to wait and see. The doors are always open for everyone to join in. There is going to be a 50-year retrospective of Accept and anyone who wants to participate is more than welcome. Yeah, for sure.”

However, when asked if Hoffman was planning to reach out to them or whether he would await their call, the guitarist got a little bit defensive:

“Can you just shut up now? Ha ha. You’re not going to get me to talk about that. Sorry. Everyone wants to know…”

So the door remains open for Dirkschneider and Baltes to come back, but whether or not they actually will remains the biggest mystery of the upcoming tour.

In the meantime, you can catch Accept on their Full Metal Assault Tour with KK’s Priest this fall, dates listed below.
