D.O.A. and War On Women Announce Eastern U.S. Tour for August
Baltimore-based feminist hardcore act War On Women have been far too quiet for the past few years, with it being four years since the release from their last banger of an album Wonderful Hell. While they’re certainly entitled to get some rest, I don’t think I’m alone in wanting more of frontwoman Shawna Potter’s acerbic feminist anthems about things like the joys of murdering men by poisoning them. No really, they have a song about that.
So get ready for one hell of a hardcore tour to wrap up your summer as War On Women team up with hardcore legends D.O.A. for an eastern U.S. tour with fellow hardcore legends FEAR joining them on select dates. It’s classic hardcore meets modern hardcore in one of the most exciting tours of the year.
In a statement, D.O.A. frontman Joey Shithead gushed about how much fun the tour was going to be:
“The D.O.A./War On Women tour this August is gonna be a kick ass, over the top, wild punk rock tour! That is a certainty, as you have two of the most political and in your face rip it up live bands in the world. I can’t wait!!!”
War On Women are fresh out of the studio from working on their yet-to-be-titled fourth album, with Potter exclaiming about the tour:
“I love my dog, but it’s time to get back out there.”
War On Women will also have their own headlining gig at the end of the tour in Newport, KY. Later this year they’ll be featuring on the main stage at The Fest in Gainesville, FL, then they’re touring with metal heroes Voivod in Voivod’s home nation of Canada. So, overall, it promises to be a great second half to the year for War On Women. Check out the tour dates below:
