Bruce Dickinson’s Video for “Resurrection Men” is a Look Back at His Solo Tour

With his long run on the road as a solo artist now behind him, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson released a new music video to the song “Resurrection Man” that takes a look back at the shows that were.

Just last week, he released the limited edition CD of the track as a single, which also featured two live bonus tracks for “Afterglow of Ragnarok” and “Abduction”. Both tracks were recorded at the Sao Paulo show in support of The Mandrake Project.

In a press release, Dickinson praised the many men and women that worked, played, and attended his most recent solo tour.

“The tour was one of the very best. The band were just so pumped and on it every night that it was a joy. The audience reactions everywhere for songs old and new were pretty overwhelming & I already can’t wait to go back out again! The video is my thank you to everyone that came to see us at festivals, clubs, theatres and arenas. Who said a metal audience can’t appreciate a theremin, bongos and ‘Dick Dale-esque’ surfer guitars? Mine certainly do!!”

To put all that into perspective, Dickinson and his “House Band of Hell” played 50 shows on three continents, with shows in the U.K., the U.S., Europe, and Latin America. The tour ran from April 12 in Los Angeles until July 21 in Athens, Greece, ultimately playing to an estimated 350,000 people.

Surely, this won’t be the last we’ll see of Dickinson’s solo efforts. Iron Maiden’s still a major part of the metal scene, but Dickinson sounds like he’s been reminded why he enjoyed his previous runs as a solo artist all those years ago.
