Oceans of Slumber Get Dark and Sexy with Cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game”

Let’s be real for a second. When it comes to sexy, yet melancholy songs from the late ’80s, there are few songs that beat Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.” Shit just dives off the deep end in terms of emotions, which I know some of our readership doesn’t like to admit they have.

Earlier today, Houston-based metal act Oceans of Slumber dropped their rendition of the heart-heavy song as the latest single off their forthcoming album Where Gods Fear to Speak. Due out on Friday, September 13, both Cammie and Dobber Beverly said “Wicked Game” was the perfect track to end their album on.

“We’ve taken the raw and heavier direction of our last two albums and elevated it to the scale of a blockbuster IMAX movie. Our cover of ‘Wicked Game’ is the song that plays over the end credits.

“With ‘Wicked Game’, we’re sending the characters off into the sunset with a cliffhanger.”

In addition to their upcoming record, Oceans of Slumber will be playing the Metal Injection Festival (get your tickets today). So if you’d like to catch them live, I’d suggest picking up your tickets to that show in New York this September.

Where Gods Fear to Speak will be out on September 13, but you can preorder your copy today.
