Queens of the Stone Age Cancel More Tour Dates
Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age has had it rough for the last few weeks, and the dude just can’t seem to catch a damn break. He went into emergency surgery earlier this month, causing him and the band to scratch some shows from their basically year-round tour to recoup. If that didn’t fuckin suck enough, it looks like they’ve got to cancel quite a few more.
The band shared a statement on Twitter (it will NEVER, EVER be X) early in the morning on Friday, July 26, with the new round of dropped festival dates. You could feel the disappointment oozing from that tweet, since they were obviously bummed to post it and we were obviously bummed to read it.
“Due to continued medical care, it is under doctors’ orders that Josh Homme remain in their care in the United States.
The Homme family and QOTSA are so grateful for the outpouring of well wishes and kind understanding during this time.”
Queens of the Stone Age confirmed earlier this month that they were going to do one of the coolest fucking things a modern band will probably ever get to do—play inside the Paris Catacombs—just days before they announced the first set of shutdown shows. We’re still not sure if this show will be affected but… probably.
We wish Homme the speediest recovery, and we hope you’ll be able to get back on the road soon. See the original tweet and new tour dates below.
